If you're living with (or in close proximity) to an Ed Sheeran fan who insists on playing his music repeatedly, you may need to resort to calling the police to get them to stop.

That's what happened recently in Walsall in England, where a woman called Sonia Bryce was taken to court by her landlord Walsall Housing Group for "continuous playing of loud music, shouting, loud talking and swearing."

Her neighbour Claire Tidmarsh had complained that she was "subjected to continuous noise nuisance by the behaviour of Miss Bryce, her family and a continuous stream of visitors" and that she had broken an injuction that banned her from noise disturbances "at least ten times", which led to her being jailed for six weeks before Christmas.

However, upon her release the behaviour continued and at one stage, she allegedly played Sheeran's song 'Shape of You' "over and over again"  - although she denied that in court, saying that she "doesn't even like Ed Sheeran".

In any case, she was sent behind bars for another eight weeks, with the presiding judge saying: "You have displayed nothing but violent animosity towards your neighbour."

So, Sheerios, the next time you're playing his music out loud, think about the potential consequences - you never know who you're annoying.
