It's one of the most infamous nightclubs in Dublin, particularly beloved of Gards, nurses and people from 'de country' - and now it's set to be immortalised as a stage musical.
Copper Face Jack's: The Musical is coming to Dublin's Olympia Theatre this July and was written by Paul Howard - the man behind the Ross O'Carroll-Kelly books and stage shows.
The plot, meanwhile, sees a young lady from Kerry falling for a Dublin lad when they meet in the Harcourt Street hotspot, and is described as "Moulin Rouge... with slow sets".
As the press release puts it, it's "a love story set on the eve of a Dublin Kerry All Ireland Final, when a sweet Kerry girl, who’s moved to the big smoke for her dream job in The VHI, ends up falling head over her flat-shoes with a true blue Dublin team member."
The people behind Howard's puppet-based musical comedy ANGLO: The Musical are also on board for this new project, so we can expect some puppetry in the mix this time, too.
It runs at the Olympia from July 5th and tickets (€28) are on sale from usual outlets tomorrow at 9am.
