Dublin's biggest indoor venue, the 3Arena, has stepped up its security procedures following last week's attack at the Manchester Arena.

The venue sent out a press release yesterday warning those who were attending tonight's gig by American teen musician Shawn Mendes that there would be extra checks in place, including body pat-downs, pocket checks and that no backpacks or large purses or bags would be permitted in the venue - and advising fans to arrive early due to the inevitable delays that will occur.

Doors for tonight's show open at 6.30pm.

See below for the notice issued by the venue:

The following policies will apply regarding to tomorrow night’s show (30th May) at 3Arena. We ask that you carefully review the following updated security restrictions and protocols that will apply:

· Backpacks, larger purses or bags are not allowed; only purses or clutches measuring 4.5in/11.4cm x 6.5in/16.51cm or smaller will be allowed.

· A full body pat down search and/or metal detector search will take place prior to venue entry.

· Pocket contents will need to be completely emptied and viewed during the search process.

· We encourage patrons to minimize jackets and additional layers when possible.

**Reviewing the above policies in advance and adhering to them the night of the show will ensure that everyone gains entry to the venue in a safe and timely manner. As always, we encourage fans to arrive early and we thank you in advance. Due to these security checks it will understandably take longer for customers to gain entry into the venue.
