Polaris Winners Re-Record Band Aid Classic [Updated]

09 December 2009

Polaris Music Prize winning Canadian hardcore band F**ked Up are to use their $20,000 winnings to re-record the Band Aid Christmas classic 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'

Similar to the original single, this version will feature a host of guest appearances. Members of Vampire Weekend, TV On The Radio, Broken Social Scene, Bob Mould, No Age, Yo La Tengo, the GZA and David Cross are all on board, while Feist, Jarvis Cocker and MIA are yet to be confirmed.

Frontman Damian Abraham AKA Pink Eyes told New York magazine's Vulture blog, "We wanted the biggest people we could get. If we could get a Jonas Brother on this, I would get a Jonas Brother."

The single will be released on Matador, and aims to raise money for smaller charities including Justice For The Missing.
