R.E.M. will finally release a live album from their lauded performance at Dublin's Olympia Theatre, while they were road testing tracks for their latest album 'Accelerator' in July 2007.  As well as 'R.E.M. Live at the Olympia', the band also release a four track EP, the four tracks from 'Reckoning', they played at the same gig. 'Reckoning Songs From the Olympia' in turn follows the recent reissue of the 1984 album, and is due for release on July 7th.

Dame Shirley Bassey is to release her first studio album in over ten years. Best known for her Bond tune 'Goldfinger', the now 72 year old Bassey will once again work with a Bond Composer, this time David Arnold, the man responsible for scoring for the last five Bond movies. The Pet Shop Boys have also written a track for Bassey's new album.

Singer and guitarist Amy Millan of Canadian indie rock band Stars is all set to release her second solo album, 'Master of the Burial'. She will release the album on September 8th on Canadian indie label Arts and Crafts, home to her own band, as well collaborators Broken Social Scene. 'Master of the Burial' features a guest appearance from Feist as well as a cover of  Death Cab for Cutie's heart wrenching 'I Will Follow You Into The Dark'.

Meanwhile, The Ting Tings are recording the follow up to their massively successful debut, 'We Started Nothing' in  a jazz club in Berlin, and California thrash metallers Slayer have revealed their 11th studio album, 'World Painted Blood', is to be released late this summer.
