Video :: Jedward talk Eurovision and more

Words: John Balfe
Jedward will once again have Ireland's Eurovision hopes in the palm of their hands when they assault the continent-wide song contest as only they can. Their song 'Waterline' hopes to succeed where last year's 'Lipstick' failed and bring the gong home to Ireland for the first time Eimear Quinn's 'The Voice' took the title back in 1996, the last of our seven titles.
1996 was a very long time ago and such has been the rapid decline of Ireland, the most successful country in the history of the competition, that we now suffer the ignominy of having to compete in a qualifying round with the likes of Moldova and Cyprus, countries who haven't been able to produce anything even close to the likes of Johnny Logan in their history… The shame.
Jedward's semi-final will be on Tuesday 22nd May with the Grand Final following on 26th May. Come on Jedward, the nation holds its breath.
