Husband and wife Ford and Pfeiffer are terrorised by paranormal forces that have their roots far closer to home and reality than they initially expect. As directed by Robert Zemeckis, What Lies Beneath is a clever-clever homage to adult horror reminiscent of The Sixth Sense. Pfeiffer and Ford underperform, however.
