Chances are, if you're not a fan of Star Trek you'll have absolutely no interest in seeing the tenth movie in the franchise, Nemesis. And truth be told, there's very little here which will endear it to those who have resisted the charms of the Enterprise so far. This time around, Picard and the rest of his aging crew are heading off to the wedding of Riker (Frakes) and Troi (Sirtis), but they are interrupted with a request to stop off at Romulus, where it seems the nasty ole Romuluns want to broker a peace deal with the Federation. So far, so good, but when Picard and the gang arrive, they are shocked to discover that the newly elected leader of the Romuluns is Shinzon (Tom Hardy), a clone of the good captain. Needless to say, peace is about the furthest thing from Shinzon's mind and it's up to the crew of the Enterprise to stop this bad dog in his tracks. Like James Bond, there's an inevitable sense of deja vu when a new Star Trek film arrives with a certain number of criteria being executed in order to satisfy the old faithful - chief amongst them, lots of airy talk about gamma rays, timespace continuums and all that nonsense. The budget might have been jacked up and the effects are occasionally quite good, but you have seen this movie before. Several times, probably. Oh, and in case you haven't guessed by now, I am not a fan but you pays your money, folks..
