Filmed almost entirely in Dublin but set over the course of a London summer, Peaches follows the misadventures of Frank (Matthew Rhys), a final year student at a loss with what to do with his life. In a bid to help him break out of his depression, his flat mate, Pete challenges him to see who can enjoy the most sexual conquests over the course of the next few months. On first glances, the story may not offer anything particularly inventive, but where Peaches is thoughtful and relatively fresh is in its depiction of the, oft vacant, male psyche. The final twenty minutes cost it dearly, but this low budget film is ultimately well handled by first time director, Nick Grosso and a fine cast. Worth a look.
