For some reason, Australia rivals only Japan in my mind, in the battle for 'ideal settings for creepy films'. Maybe it's the desolate landscape, or the stretches of thousands of uninterrupted miles, or just because Wolf Creek scared the bejesus out of me. Either way, Black Water, despite its pretty standard premise (it's really a survival film, similar to the awful 'Open Water' looks somewhat eerie. Three teenagers decide to take a river tour while holidaying in Northern Oz. Their boat, however, capsizes, one of them is swept away and the other two are stranded in a mangrove swamp (google it - it's very creepy) and must figure out how to survive. Killer crocs also abound.
