Wolf Parade - Apologies To The Queen Mary

It would be easy to confuse Wolf Parade with The Arcade Fire for more than one reason. For starters, they both hail from that most fertile of indie-kid breeding grounds, Montreal; their albums have similar themes - the former's repeated tales of ghosts and mortality runs parallel to Funeral's narrative of death; and both have a reputation for awesome displays of proficiency as live musicians. However, whilst they may subscribe to the same school of celestial indie rock, that's where the comparisons end. Apologies To The Queen Mary brings an edginess, eclecticism and unsettled innervation to the listener that could only be gained by Isaac Brock's (Modest Mouse) production. Fans of epic dark indie with a morbid twist (Broken Social Scene, The National, Modest Mouse) will love this; uplifting in the most beatific way possible.
