Martin Lawrence plays career thief, Kevin Caffery, who becomes obsessed with ripping off fellow crook Max Fairbanks (Danny De Vito). When he finally gets an opportunity to do so, though, Fairbanks is up to the challenge. Catching him in the act - quite literally - Fairbanks ends up stealing a ring off Caffrey and the pair engage in an ever farcical game to discover just who is the better thief. Fairly derivative stuff, What's The Worst That Can Happen depends greatly on the star power of its two main players. To be fair, De Vito is well up to the challenge of negotiating the shallow script and making his character (and the film) appear far more substantial than it actually is. Sadly, the same can't be said for Lawrence. Admittedly, there are a couple of decent set pieces, but like so much in the cannon of Martin Lawrence - himself little more than a discount version of Eddie Murphy - there's very little here that you haven't seen before. Still, if you like this sort of thing, you'll probably think What's The Worst That Can Happen? is a hoot.
