A love triangle set during WWII, which is based on Graham Greene's novel, The End of the Affair boasts stiff upper lips, strong performances and a beguiling script. The pace is slow and the tone austere but Fiennes and Moore enjoy a sizzling chemistry, and director Jordan invests what could have been a self-obsessed tale of petty jealousies with warmth and humour.
