Tarzan's jungle location, combined with a new technique called 'deep canvas', allows the animators to create a lush backdrop against which the ape-man pursues acceptance in both the gorilla and human worlds. There's enough knockabout violence to keep any toy-town thug happy and the character of Tarzan has a darker, more malevolent side that's in keeping in with the original text.
