The cream of British comedy actors unite in this modern take on the 1950s classic series. St. Trinian's, the boarding school for girls, populated by anarchic teenagers and created by cartoonist Ronald Searle, stars Colin Firth, Stephen Fry and Russell Brand amongst others. Rupert Everett is said to provide a star turn as he undertakes the role made famous by Alastair Sim in the original films - stern headmistress Miss Fritton. The pictures are frightening. The story revolves around the girls of St. Trinian's, and how they pull off a scam to steal a priceless painting to pay enormous debts and prevent their beloved school from closing. This actually looks like quite good fun. Stephen Fry's involved - it can't be that bad, can it?
