I read and loved this book. I havent seen it yet and was worried as I think Witherspoon was the wrong choice for the role but 4 stars cant be argued with!

The movie lacks on the love story front. It does not really show how they fell in love and all went a bit too quick over that part ...predictacle but still nice to watch. August , the baddie is a great villian to watch. Pattinson and Witherspoon are really are a bit wishy washy. Film shot lovely and not too much special effects. One really annoying part though is the start....really old man reminiscing ...kinda remind anyone of Titantic a bit!

I was looking for something 'Like Water for Chocolate' and got soya instead. The story is obvious - younger man falls for older, married woman in a bad relationship. That it all takes place in a circus during the depression, cannot save this story. As a couple they are not believable and no heat whatsoever. In fact, they have more passion for the horses and elephant than each other. At the start we are teased with a story of 'disaster' but when it comes, its like a hiccup. Clearly all involved have done better work.

I was so excited to see this film, but came out of it a tiny bit disappointed. I wanted to know how they're love story evolved more, it didnt feel natural. The bit that disappointed me the most was the lack luster chemistry between Reese Meltedspoon and Rpatz.... luke warm at a push! I still liked film, but it wasn't an epic love story that touched my heart.... the film though as a whole is visually stunning.
