  If you can get a transcript of the director's remarks and the Q&A session from the Film Fleadh, it shows a lot about the impact of the director's vision and point of view on this highly acclaimed film.

  The film was stunning-I was drawn into it and the sounds of silence-that is until a sequence which showed the callous drowning of a dog -from the moment I saw this the rest of the film was lost to me -I found it extremely upsetting and the image of a faithful dog being taken on a boat and then tossed into the sea , the dog struggling to swim ( I think the so called men had tied the dogs legs or tied a rock to the dogs neck) and then sinking below the water was too much for me to take. I know these barbarities happen but I would have liked to have been warned that there were scenes of animal cruelty and I would not have gone and would not now still feel sick at what I watched. The entire film was ruined for me -
