Sherlock Holmes has been one of cinema's most enduring characters. Between him and Dracula, they are the most filmed characters in film history. Given the late Victorian period that he lives in, he's in constant need for reinvention, hence Guy Ritchie's lively "guns n' geezers" approach which continues with this thoroughly entertaining sequel. This time around he plays both mind and war games with arch nemesis Moriarty, aided by the long-suffering Watson. Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law have their rapport down to a t by now and there are some respectful nods towards Arthur Conan Doyle towards the end. Yet sometimes I wish the film would slow down a bit and allow the characters more room to breathe. All in all though, this is a thoroughly enjoyable romp and is ideal pre-Christmas viewing. One odd thing I noticed though - the hilarious double entendre at the end of the first trailer seems to be missing in the final edit. I was curious to know what they were really talking about...

I Personally Did Not Like It, It Went On Too Long And Was Boring.

I fell asleep. The first half hour is so dull and boring my body had no choice. Maybe it picked up after that but arent you supposed to be grabbed and held from the very start?

I didn't fall asleep but I wish I had. It would have saved me the boredom. Don't go to see it unless you have time to waste.

It has better action and it is funnier but a game of shadows plot and character development really let it down
