  Went to see this as the closing film of the JDIFF and what a masterpiece it was,funny,compelling and engaging,some real laugh out loud moments in which Catherine Deneuve really flexes her funny muscles.

  I'm dismayed that Potiche was awarded only 2 stars. Like scorpio6 I also saw this at the close of JDIFF and thought it a very entertaining and funny film; high camp all round - perfect for lifting the spirit. To top it off Deneuve's acting is exceptional. This film is much better than the reviewer would have you believe.

  Have to agree with the review. I like '8 Women' so had high hopes for this at JDIFF. This movie isn't half as ironic or knowingly kitsch as it thinks it is. Gender politics is a tired cinema cliché and this slight film adds nothing new.
