I do agree this is a good film and I would recommend it. However, it is a tad too long. I am not really diverted by Ellis and his little romance, throw in the complication of his parents fraught marriage and it distracts from the main plot about the relationship with Mud. There is enough in that storyline to sustain it anyway. A found it hard to hear what Neckbone was saying a lot of the time; he is not as comfortable on screen as Ellis is. Then there is the story of Neckbone and his brother, Michael Shannon. This is another sideline that really serves to drag the movie out, it adds nothing.
