Every year in New York's Bryant Park, the summer brings not only good weather but also crowds of people who want to attend the screening of movies in the park.

In order to avoid having people mulling around the park all day trying to save the best spot, however, they keep the people off the area where the movie will be shown until shortly before it starts, which leads to them queuing up around the sides, waiting for their chance to sprint for their desired spot.

The result of this, when seen from the safety of a skyscraper forty floors above them, is mesmerising footage that looks like, as one of the commentators described it, ants swarming around a dead cricket.

In case you were interested, the movie was Ghostbusters, apparently.
