It's hard to imagine, with all the changes that have gone on in the last few years, what Ireland might have looked like in the last century.

However, this amazing piece of footage, shot by an amateur over 60 years ago on a 16mm camera, shows what Dublin looked like back then, with the Nelson Pillar still intact on O'Connell Street.

It's a breathtaking step back in time and some amazing footage of the city that shows just how different things are today, not to mention how style has changed drastically over the years. The aul rules of the road seem a bit lax, mind.
