This is the year that Marty McFly traveled to in Back To The Future, so we're running out of time for them to bring us that hoverboard they promised.

However, we have seen plenty of attempts recently to try and make one that would actually work and allow us to get away from Biff and his cronies and while some were pranks, others were the real deal, although still prototypes.

This week, Lexus have become the newest players in the burgeoning hoverboard market, with what they claim is a real, rideable hoverboard. They have a special launch video to mark the special occasion, which doesn't actually show anyone riding it.

They promise updates over the coming weeks, and that they have worked incredibly hard on this project that will bring hovering into our lives, but we're once bitten twice shy when it comes to this now, we have to say. We'll believe it when we're hovering, and right now we're sitting here on a bog-standard chair with a sore back, Lexus.
