As a public figure on TV and radio, George Hook gets a lot of people interacting with him on social media.

However, not all of that is positive, and like a lot of other people out there he gets some abuse too.

Sometimes that deluge of insults and bullying doesn't stay online, and today he received an anonymous letter that was filled with vile insults, as well as telling him that he should have killed himself when he had the chance.

This type of behaviour is unfortunately becoming more common thanks to social media, and is no longer limited to public figures, and in George's eloquent response, he outlines that while this doesn't affect him, he does think of those who might not be so used to being on the receiving end, and encourages them to stand together and say that they will not tolerate it.

Well said, George.
