Sites classed as pornographic were accessed just over 247,000 times on UK Parliament computers last year, a recent FOI request has found.

Over 42,000 attempts were made to access these sites in April of last year alone, averaging 1,300 times a day.

If you're looking for the names of the sites that were accessed you're not going to find them here, s they weren't released in this story, but you can be sure we'll be hearing all about them over the next few weeks and months.

Shockingly, this total is 100,000 less than in 2013, but Taxpayers’ Alliance Chief Executive Jonathan Isaby pointed out that “Some of these ‘visits’ are no doubt the product of pop-ups beyond anybody’s control, but the number is absolutely staggering.

“One would hope that those attempting to access these sites at Parliament could keep their extra-curricular activities safely within their own four walls, as it’s not an appropriate use of time when it’s on the taxpayers’ tab,” he added.

Sure, 250,000 pop ups, have they never heard of an AdBlocker?
