Now when you're swiping right on Hilary Duff, you'll know it's really her (or at least you would have if she hadn't just quit it).

In a move both to counter people pretending to be celebrities and catfishing unwitting men and women online and also to allow actual celebs to use the app (although we reckon it's very much more so the former than the latter), Tinder has rolled out verified accounts to those who need them.

Billed to be used for "notable public figures, celebrities and athletes", the new verified accounts will feature a little blue tick just like those on Facebook and Twitter so you know they're legit. This either opens the door to meeting the man/woman of your dreams or having your dreams crushed when you realise that the person you've been talking to isn't a bona fide celeb.
