We've all had to remove spiders from our kitchens, bathrooms or bedrooms at one stage or another, but this winter it might be a bit more difficult than usual.

Why? Well, it turns out that experts from Sydney University are assuring us that they will be much bigger this year than previous years thanks to the rising temperatures and the good weather over the summer.

Professor Adam Hart told The Irish Mirror that "this year has been seemingly a good one for the invertebrates which spiders feed on, and it's quite mild out there", which means we can expect them to be much bigger than usual.

The other problem is that now, as the autumn really kicks in, they're also coming indoors, and they want to set up shop in your house. The males become nomadic later in the year as they begin to look for females, so they will probably be looking for somewhere warm and dry, like your house. Probably your bedroom at night while you sleep in the dark.

However, professor Hart did add that you don't need to worry too much, the spiders won't be bothered with you, and in fact they're more interested in finding other bugs in your house to eat, so you can leave them be.
