Grace Wain and her family had a pretty bad start to their dream family holiday after the 14-year-old was told that she wouldn't be allowed to board the flight because she looked too pale.

Paul Wain, along with his wife Sheena and his children Grace (14) and Murray (11) were headed to a dream holiday in the Maldives recently, but got a bit of a shock when they tried to board their Etihad flight to Abu Dhabi, which would then take them on the island paradise.

The family were queueing up to board their flight when the ground staff at Manchester airport decided that Grace shouldn't get on the flight, as she looked too pale and could be unwell.

That wasn't all either, as they decided they needed a note from her doctor to confirm that she was able to fly, and Grace even had to be checked up by an airport paramedic before she got on the flight.

Paul said that the whole thing was a complete ordeal, and speaking to The Daily Record, added "I left the Royal Navy last year, after 29 years' service, and I had kept back some of the money I got so we could have a fantastic holiday. It is a once-in-a-lifetime event and someone was telling us we weren't going anywhere. We just stared at each other in amazement that we were not getting on this holiday and then the kids started crying."

He said that she had been hot and bothered as a result of being in the airport, and was cuddled up with her mother, at which point "one of the Etihad check-in girls then made the decision that she wasn't fit to fly based on the fact she was pale in colour and was leaning against her mum".

The airline eventually relented and let her on the flight (after they got the letter from her GP) just two hours before it was due to take off, but the nightmare didn't end there, as they managed to lose the family's bags on the way, leaving them with no change of clothes for the first three days of their holiday.

Anyway, this is just another case of gingers being clearly discriminated against, now it turns out that they can't even get on planes because they look "unhealthy". When will the persecution end?
