Well, that's it lads, the summer of '15 is over. We had a good run.

The heavy rain that covered most of the country this morning looks like it might be the start of some unpleasant weather for much of the rest of the week. Met Éireann are predicting that the rain will continue tonight with a mix of heavy showers and dry spells, while tomorrow looks to have heavy, thundery showers in particular in the west and north.

The rest of the country may see some drier conditions, while the forecast for Wednesday looks more favourable as temperatures could hit as high as 20 degrees during sunny spells, although there will still be some isolated showers.

Thursday and Friday will see more rain and patchy drizzle, as well as fog, as cloud moves in from the Atlantic, while scattered showers will persist into the weekend. So, don't go planning any barbecues.
