It's not often you'll find a gold ingot in a lake, but when you do, what exactly is the procedure for it?
A teenager found a 500-gram bar of gold at Koenigssee Lake, Germany and after an six months of waiting, nobody's claimed it. The gold ingot, which was discovered roughly six feet under in the lake in rural Germany, was handed in at the young teenager's local police station.
The gold ingot, which is estimated to be worth approximately €13,000, wasn't claimed by anyone within that time period. Therefore, under German common law, the gold ingot reverts to whoever found it, in this case the aforementioned teenager.
German police have so far been unable to identify either the owner of the ingot or how exactly it wound up in a lake in rural Germany.
