We knew it was hot out, but this is a bit much isn't it?
There was a dramatic turn of events in Dublin City Centre this morning after a manhole exploded, missing bystanders by a mere few inches.
The exact cause of the explosion is not known, but things certainly looked pretty serious, as these pictures snapped by Eoin Ó Súilleabháin on Twitter show. As far as we're aware, it's got nothing to do with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The fire brigade arrived on the scene also to calm things down, and appear to have the situation under control.

Thankfully, there doesn't seem to have been any injuries as a result of the accident, but we'll definitely be watching our step around the streets today.
