We're entering the final days of 2014, so we feel it's high time we got some of these things off our chest. 2014 has seen some truly awful things (and people) get really popular.

With a bit of luck, this will be the last time you see any of these things.

9. DAN BILZERIAN

Screw him and his beard. Dan Bilzerian was, we think, woefully neglected as a child and probably had no friends growing up. Then, somehow, he became really rich and began posting desperately attention-seeking things on Facebook and Instagram. You know that person that ALWAYS posts when they're at a party or event and says how much fun they're having? That's him. How much fun can you honestly be having if you feel the need to tell everyone about it? He's also ruining owning a beard for the rest of us.

8. PULLED PORK

IT'S MEAT THAT'S BEEN PUT THROUGH A GRINDER. THAT'S IT. There was a time when pulled pork was the new thing everyone wanted to try on a menu. Pulled pork sandwich? Sure, OK. Now you can't go into a pub or sandwich place without being thrust in front of you. Sure, it's reasonably tasty and stuff - but there's very little to it.

7. PEOPLE TRYING TO BREAK THE INTERNET

You cannot break the Internet with your bare arse. Entering Google into Google will break the Internet. Everyone knows that. Jeez.

6. WATER CHARGES / WATER PROTESTS

Whatever you're feeling on the subject is, one of these is going to be history in 2015.

5. EVERYTHING TO DO WITH FROZEN

Enough already. Yes, it was a good film. Yes, the soundtrack was also very popular. Yes, kids can't get enough of the Elsa dolls. ENOUGH.

4. LOVE / HATE

We can't possibly cope with another series like the last one. We've got serious withdrawal issues as it is and we don't need a season in 2015 to keep us hooked.

3. GRUMPY CAT

It's a cat. That looks consistently pissed off. How and why this thing became popular is proof that we are living in the end times.

2. THE ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE / ANY KIND OF CHALLENGE

Alright, fine. It raised a lot of money for good charities. That's obviously a good thing. But at the same time, it was super-duper annoying. Just give money to charity without the "LOOK AT ME, I'M IN A BIKINI GETTING ICE OVER MY HEAD LOL #icebucketchallenge" aspect of it all.

1. PHARELL'S HAPPY

We liked it the first 100 times we heard it. However, when we were tied down and the song was blasted into our ear-holes for ten months straight, it got just a tad annoying. We no longer feel like a room without a roof.
