Hard Working Class Heroes 2008

Fred

Fred are a five piece from Cork City, Ireland who take the anguish, angst and pain out of Rock'n'roll, opting instead to just be really good. "Like Sly & The Family Stone in a swordfight with the Flaming Lips, refereed by Brian Wilson" is how The Irish Times described Fred.

LOL! I was at that gig too - we would've just kept going, wouldn't we? LOVE Fred, been a fan for years. Delighted they're finally getting the recognition they've deserved since, like, The Parsnip Song! My only fear is that they'll be on at the same time as my other favourite band, Halves. Would be genuinely gutted to miss either.Comment published 12/08/2008 13:43:38

Best live band in the country! Where else would you see a crowd sing the entire way to the encore rather than shouting "one more chewn"? Fantastic!Comment published 11/08/2008 10:37:37
