If you've never heard of Warcraft... first of all, what's the weather like down there? Beneath the rock you've been living under? We're betting it's warm. And secondly, as one of the most popular video games - or Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game to be pedantic, or MMORPG for short - of all time, plus it's had an entire episode of South Park dedicated to it's existence, so welcome to popular culture!

Anyways, it's just been announced that the movie adaptation of Warcraft is officially joining the ranks of the already swelling cinematic calendar that is 2015 (read all about how busy that year is going to be HERE), with its release date set to be December 18th, 2015.

Previously, that date has been reserved for The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, and more recently, The Hobbit Trilogy, so its clear that Universal believe they've got that kind of potentially mega-blockbusting, potentially big franchise kind of movie on their hands.

Due to start filming in January 2014 under the watchful eye of director Duncan Jones, who's previously directed Moon and Source Code (and can be followed on Twitter via his account @ManMadeMoon if you're so inclined), and with the rumoured cast to include Paula Patton, Anton Yelchin, Paul Dano and our own Colin Farrell, anticipation is high.
