Space simulators on PC have a long tradition, going back all the way to '80s and '90s classics like Asteroids, Elite, and Wing Commander.
Sons of Sol, a new game by Irish studio RetroNeo Games, takes a few cues from these and puts them into a splashy new context, with beautiful graphics and sharply designed gameplay to top it all off. The first trailer debuted last night online with some Pre-Alpha footage to give a flavour of what's to come and, we have to say, it looks pretty special.
It's really cool to see old-school space simulators becoming popular again, and there's definitely that kind of feeling from watching the trailer.
Sons of Sol is scheduled for a late 2017 release.
