As the final (downloadable) entry into the Ratchet and Clank adventures on the PS3, Nexus is a fitting if all too short epilogue. You'll have completed the story mission in about five or six hours, and unless you're a true completest, there isn't an awful lot here to make you want to come back for more. However, despite its brevity, this is still A LOT of fun, and will only make you yearn for the hopefully inevitable PS4 R&C mission.

The plot is fairly standard: an evil princess has broken free from your prison ship, and wants to open up a portal between dimensions to let loose a monster that will destroy everything. And it's up to you to stop them. Thankfully, the story is told with such a witty script and original settings, it's still all too entertaining regardless of its lacking originality.

Across the game you'll uncover a massive selection of great weapons and gadgets, from a possibly insanely homicidal robot who will help you kill the bad guys, to jet-packs and hover-fans. The early levels in space do a great job of playing about with zero-gravity, as you jump around the inside and outside of your ship, with no discernible way of telling what is up and what is down. Some of the later levels up the moody and creepy factor (at least by Ratchet and Clank series standards), so anyone concerned that this might be a solely children's game are mistaken.

More of a fun way to pass an afternoon than an absolute MUST-BUY this late in the PS3 era, this is something that fans of the series will probably want to get their hands on. For everyone else, there is a lot here to enjoy, but just as much to almost instantly forget once the game is over.
