No, it's not the catcall of an illiterate aerobics team - it's the latest piece of plastic that Nintendo have stuck a price tag on.

Heh! What can I say? How do I start? Firstly, for those of you who don't know me, I am extremely cynical towards anyone from the gaming world who pretends that games are anything but bad for you. I have no beef with the brain training: it's just like a virtual crossword, it's fun and it keeps the brain active. But it will not make you smarter.

Wii Fit is different. This is a blatant attempt to justify children not going outside and playing.

So when my girlfriend delighted in pointing out the pisstake on YouTube, I felt compelled to pay it forward.

However, it cannot be said that I am anything but fair. So, in the interest of bringing you, the reader, the best possible review, I have set myself a challenge. I will set myself a target weight and use the wretched device for the next month (to be brutally honest, I could do with dropping a few pounds, anyway).

So, check back here in one month for the second half of this review to find out if this is true blue or the next great white hype!
