Despite being in stores less than a month, The Last Of Us has sold over 3.4 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling game of 2013 so far, as well as the fastest selling new franchise game in the entire history of PlayStation 3!
For those of you who haven't played the game, you can read our review and our interviews with the games creators, but if you're rushed for time, let us tell you this: It. Is. Amazing. Without a doubt the greatest game we've ever played, and we cannot recommend it enough.
Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios released a statement alongside the record-breaking sales figures: "These sales figures are a testament to the blockbuster quality of The Last of Us. The teams at Naughty Dog (developers of The Last Of Us) are true visionaries and their storytelling capabilities are second to none, this title is an undisputed demonstration of that. PlayStation continues to be committed to delivering unique gameplay experiences that redefine the interactive entertainment industry and The Last of Us is a perfect example."
And since it's only been out a month, we can expect those sales figures to continue to rise.
