I picked this one up over the weekend, thinking it would be a nice puzzler. The blurb on the back of the cover spoke of 'fun comic book style presentation'. I thought I was getting a 'Day of the Tentacle' style platformer, with clever interactions and humourous brainteasers. That is not what I got.
Apart from the fun cut scenes, the levels themselves are just a reworking of the old platform games of yore. Now, I know there's no school like the old school - but c'mon, this is essentially Ghosts & Goblins. I loved Ghosts & Goblins, but methinks it's had its day in the sun.
There are three characters all with unique abilities. Each character can also partake in powerups that seem to be just in the right place to deal with the situation at hand. What is left for the player to figure out is very little - just jump and slash.
On the plus side, I did like the presentation: the comic book style works well, and the graphics fit in nicely with the tone of the game. It's just a shame the rest of the package didn't really come together.
