The popular platforming series comes a new 4 player co-op game. Long time nemesis Dr. Nefarious latest attempt to kill the eponymous heroes and Qwark (now President) backfires forcing the four characters to put aside past differences and work together against a new threat.

From the get go the game does a lot of things right. Controls are easy to pick up and master, graphics are good and more importantly clear enough to avoid confusion for multiple players and three of the main characters should be instantly likeable to even new players. Unfortunately, it also does a lot of little things that really get in the way of enjoying the game. The often repeated in-game dialogue quickly grates, cut scenes can be a bit too regular and I spent a good amount of time hoping the smug Ratchet character would just go away.

Overall though it is not these little problems which lead me to feel weary playing this game. The simple truth is that it is dull to play and that there are far better games than this out there. The co-op mode never feels as engaging as something like New Super Mario Brothers Wii as the action is nowhere near as relentless nor the pick-ups in away as important enough to fight over. I would recommend the game as a useful starting point if you need a game to play with a less experienced gamer but to be honest something like the Lego series is probably a better choice.

I cannot point to much this game does wrong - in many regards it is well made game but one that delivers a rather mediocre gameplay experience in a rather attractive shell.
