Published by Codemasters, Dizzy Prince of the Yolkfolk is an HD remake of the a game released about 20 years ago. The game follows Dizzy's attempt to rescue Daisie from the Rockwart Troll, it's paper thin but hey it works.

Gameplay wise it's a classic platforming puzzle game, gather X things from the map use them on obstacle proceed to next obstacle kind of stuff. It certainly works, generally puzzles are solvable but if your concentration slips or you fail to spot something you're going to be facing the tedium of using everything with everything else in the hope of getting past the block. This is a killer in a mobile game. I play these when commuting and I just don't have the time to work out a puzzle or be stuck because I walked passed something I didn't realise I should've picked up.

Controls are as good as they can be for a touchscreen, they're obvious and responsive but even on my reasonably large screen my thumbs were getting in the way. Jumping is a bit of a fine art but 2 or 3 practice jumps and it pans out. The music is catchy, it's not really 8-bit but it does have  the feel of music from a cartridge era-game. It's good enough that I've left the game running and set the phone down while doing something else.

Graphics are pretty good, again there's the feel of a cartidge era 2-D platformer but a whole lot crisper. Yes there is the problem where items fade into the background but really it doesn't happen enough to be a deal breaker on its own.

So all in all it's worth taking a look at. It looks fine, plays well and the game music will wake you up on a bleary morning trip.
