Ireland’s vibrant community festival is marking its 26th birthday this year, and boy are they doing it in style.

Running from 31st July - 10th August, the 'Féile an Phobail' will entertain, enliven and educate the people of West Belfast and beyond with hundreds of events all across the city.

The diverse and inclusive programme encompasses community based activities; literature, drama, visual art, family fun, sports events, tours and comedy and music. Also on the cards are walks, discussions and debates and Irish language events. There's almost too much to handle! Almost.

International music acts joining in on the fun include Boyzone, Kaiser Chiefs, Soul II Soul, Paul Young, The Selecter, Wolfe Tones, Frances Black, Laidback Luke and Blasterjax. Another big name act appearing is the hilarious Jason Manford.

On the drama side on the Féile, there's Man in the Moon from Brassneck Theatre Company, trilingual play (Irish, Welsh and English) Bás (from newcomers Schizothemia), I’ll Tell Me Ma by Patricia Gormley and Just Another Statistic, written and directed by Alicia Duffy.

Scribes at the Rock returns in 2014 with authors Marina Lewycka, Ronan Bennett and Conal Creedon. Martin Sixsmith will be on hand to discuss the story of Philomena Lee; Colin Parry and Martin McGuinness join a powerful panel for On the Journey to Peace and Reconciliation and the annual Amnesty Human Rights and Investigative Journalism event will also be taking place during the festival.

With over 250 events taking place at 50 locations, it's impossible to highlight everything. However, on a final note on what's in store, think family-fun (including a Teddy Bear's Picnic in Falls Park) a Carnival Parade and sports and community events.

Féile an Phobail Director Kevin Gamble says, "Féile 2014 represents the very best of the West, and we’re delighted to have so many big names taking part this year, in the heart of the community alongside the very best local talent. As ever we endeavor to make our events accessible to all, whether they be free or affordably priced. And now, welcome to the biggest party in Belfast in 2014, and to the most exciting line-up Féile has ever seen!”

Experience the eclectic and creative atmosphere for yourself in beautiful Belfast from July 31 - August 10th.
