There'll be nothing fishy going in Howth on April 25th - 27th, for that weekend it will be all about The Prawn. The Dublin Bay Prawn Festival was launched today, April 15th with a little help from Howth native Vogue McFadden.

The three day festival is the ultimate celebration of the famed Dublin Bay Prawn. Festival goers will be able to enjoy a programme chock-full of events aimed at showcasing how many different ways the Dublin Bay Prawn can be savoured.

Local fishermen will join forces with top chefs for cookery demos and fish preparation sessions and every one of Howth's incredible restaurants will be demonstrating their take on the prawn. There'll be fun for all the family - guys and girls of all ages are heartily encouraged to participate in the seaside activities and historical and cultural events. Also included in the programme is a series of interesting walks and talks, including the 'Exploration Dome' which will discuss the mysteries of the ocean.

The festivities will last all day and into the night and will be topped off with an amazing fireworks display for when the sun goes down on Saturday.

Fingal Tourism's Elaine O'Sullivan says, “The Dublin Bay Prawn Festival is a foodie heaven for fish lovers and is not to be missed! For one weekend a year, the delicious Dublin Bay Prawn takes centre stage. Only twenty minutes from Dublin City Centre, we look forward to welcoming all for one of the most exciting events in the Howth foodie calendar.”
