Tonight is everyone’s favourite New Year, the Chinese one of course, and even though it’s a little late to be booking flights to Beijing at this stage, you can still enjoy all of the festivities, and you won’t even have to leave the country.

Amoy is bringing the New Year celebrations to you, with its party this evening in Dublin’s Castle Market, Drury Street, with a China-town style makeover that’ll have everything you could ever want from a fantastic Chinese New Year.

Live music, hundreds of authentic red lanterns, plus the spectacular Chinese Lion dancers and drummers will be on hand to make sure you ring in the New Year in the right way.

You’ll also get a chance to taste some amazing Chinese dishes, as Amoy will have professional chefs on hand to prepare their range of delicious noodles and sauces. With complimentary chopsticks and fortune cookies waiting for you, you’re sure to have an Amoyzing Chinese New Year, and definitely won’t go hungry.

The event will take place from 6.00-8.00PM, but if you find yourself busy, and still a little peckish during the day, why not head down to the Amoy sampling unit on Baggot Street between 12.00-4.00PM to try out some traditional Chinese dishes.

The rest of the festival will take place all around Dublin over the next two weeks, with all the events listed here, but you won’t want to miss Amoy kicking off the Year of the Sheep in style.

People born in the Year of the Sheep are clever, polite, fun, and liked to be looked after by others, which is perfect seeing as Amoy are going to do just that. Don’t miss it, we wouldn’t steer you wrong.
