Dublin Electronic Arts Festival
The ethos of the Dublin Electronic Arts Festival is: 'to focus on the experimental, and to promote a genuine inclusiveness in its approach to showcasing the electronic arts to new audiences in Ireland'. So, if you're looking for something a little different and off the beaten track then this is the festival for you. After the success of last year's all Irish programme, this year the DEAF team have gone for an Asian theme. Their programme showcases artists from Japan, China, Thailand and elsewhere, in various electronic art, music and film. Among their interactive events is a Karaoke afternoon in Exchequer Street Uki Yo bar, and a three day course for 10 to 14 year olds in playing and recording electronic music. This year DEAF is embracing the expanding multiculturalism in Dublin and in Ireland as well as promoting new and alternative forms of electronic art. DEAF runs from October 25th to 29th.
