Moynalty Steam Threshing Festival 2012

All roads lead to Moynalty on August 12th 2012 for the 37th Annual Steam Thrshing festival.
Visitors from far and near come to see the re-enactment of a wide variety of activities associated with rural life long since gone. A field of oats is reaped using the horse drawn binder. The sheaves are then brought to the threshing mills in the festival field. Here the exhibition of Threshing by steam engines, horse, flail and tractor driven machines is the attraction of the afternoon. There are craft displays, cooking and churning, vintage machinery and stationery engines, museum, tea rooms, farmyard animals, dancing deck, dog show,funfair and much more.
Admission is 10euro and children under 12 free. A great day out is promised. There are acres of free car parking on site.
