Feile Bia Na Mara/Achill Seafood Festival 2012

Féile Bia na Mara, taking place from July 17th to 22th, is a culinary celebration of Achill's rich heritage with the sea and it showcases the bountiful harvest of the Atlantic Ocean.

Events include cookery demonstrations, seaweed safaris, fish markets, seafood BBQs and a family sandcastle competition. Local (and guest) talent includes Cailín agus Buachaill Óg and the Achill's Got Talent contest.

On arrival to Achill on the Friday, oysters will be available in local pubs and hotels in the town and throughout the weekend the lush scenery of the island can be enjoyed on organised coastal/hill walking and cycling. For the culinary fanatics there will be cooking demonstrations from seafood exerts. To top it all off there will be plenty of music and delicious food close at hand all weekend.
