Vodafone Comedy Festival Line-up Announced


Vodafone and Aiken Promotions have announced a stellar line up for this year’s Vodafone Comedy Festival. 65 of the best Irish and International acts will be taking to the stage in the unique and beautiful surroundings of Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens this July 26th-29th. The festival is the largest and most successful open air comedy event of its type in Ireland with over 20,000 people expected to attend this year.


The impressive line-up this year will include international acts such as Police Academy star and “Man of 10,000 voices” Michael Winslow, the pub Landlord Al Murray, King of comedy cool Reginald D Hunter,stand up poet Tim Key, Milton Jones and Seann Walsh. This year will also see the return of Reggie Watts ‘the most wildly inventive new talent of the last five years’ according to La Weekly. The festival will also showcase debuts from Eddie Pepiton, Kyle Kinane, Kumail Nanjiani and Aussie duo Sammy J & Randy.


The Vodafone Comedy Festival will also have a fantastic line up of home grown talent with comedy veterans Tommy Tiernan, Jason Byrne, Pj Gallagher, Ardal O’Hanlon, David Doherty, Neil Delamere, The Nualas, David McSavage, Kevin McAleer, Barry Murphy and Dead Cat Bounce. New Irish acts will include Republic of Telly’s Bernard O’Shea, Jarleth Regan, Eric Lalor, Eleanor Tiernan and comedy trio Foil,Arms and Hog. Colm O’Regan will be returning with his premier of his new show ‘Irelands got Mammies’ and Aidan Bishop will beshowing us all that is brilliant about the International Club.
Other acts to the festival include Canadian Tom Stade, Trevor Noah, and US comedienne Natasha Leggero. The international line-up is completed by the wonderful Alex Horne, 8 out of 10 Cats’ Josh Widdicombe, musical wizard Jay Foreman, hip-hop improvisation act Abandoman.


All of this and more will contribute to what is going to be an amazing festival.Robert Hyland, Vodafone Sponsorship Manager, said, “Comedy fans are in for a real treat at this year’s festival. The 20,000 fans will get to see these 65 top acts across four separate venues in the Iveagh Gardens. As well as enjoying the comedy, festival goers can enjoy street performances, live music and the gourmet food and drink or relax in the Vodafone Nut Hut an interactive space where they have the chance to win prizes and giveaways.
Pre-sale tickets for the Vodafone Comedy Festival go on sale the 14th June until the 17th June, exclusively through the Vodafone Comedy Festival Facebook page. Tickets go on general release on the 18th June.
