Tommy Tiernan celebrates 200th Vicar Street show

Tommy Tiernan, one of Ireland's best loved comedians, completed his 200th Vicar Street performance at the weekend making him the first comedian to do so.

The Navan born comedian is currently touring his brand new show 'Stray Sod' and on Sunday celebrated this amazing achievement in the Dublin venue. Marking the occasion Bren Berry the programme director presented the comedian with a plaque to thank him for being the biggest selling act in the history of the venue. Speaking about the comedian Barry said 'It's an incredible achievement but no surprise to us as Tommy is such a truly brilliant comic artist. He is a great friend to all of us here at Vicar St and Aiken Promotions and we are very proud of our work with him, not just at Vicar St, but all over the highways and byways of Ireland. Tommy says Vicar St is his Anfield Road - well that makes him our Kenny Dalglish!'

Looks like he won't be wrapping things up just yet as more dates have been added to that total on March 14, 28 and 30th. Tickets are available through usual outlets.
