Russell Brand to share stage with Dalai Lama

Russell Brand is to share a stage with the Dalai Lama at an event for the Tibetan spiritual later this month.
The controversial comedian will host the event where the Buddhist leader is to address thousands of young people at the Manchester Arena. The talk titled ‘Century of Dialogue – Stand up and Be the Change’ is a call for young people to push for peace.
The leader’s representative Thubten Samdup said ‘We are delighted to have Russell Brand as master of ceremonies for this once-in-a-lifetime event, Russell has demonstrated the power of spirituality to effect change in his own life.’
Brand has been a vocal supporter of the Tibetan cause in the past. The Tibet House Trust officials chose Brand because of his turn to spirituality to beat his drug and alcohol addictions.
